A free grand piano from Spitfire Audio, played in Splice INSTRUMENT.
Autograph Grand is a sampled Yamaha C6 grand from Woodshed Recording in Malibu, a studio piano heard on many well-known records. It includes pedal-up and pedal-down samples and release triggers. One reviewer describes a clean, rich tone with a full low end, moving from warm to crisp as you play harder. It holds together under heavy pedal rather than turning muddy. That makes it a sensible all-round grand for drama and emotional themes, in lighter or darker moods. The catch is that it comes with a single preset and few tone controls, so there is little to tweak. It runs in the free Splice INSTRUMENT plugin.
Worth knowing: Formerly a Spitfire LABS pack. Since LABS closed on 31 October 2026 it loads in the free Splice INSTRUMENT plugin, which you download by giving an email address.
