A free grand piano from Christian Henson (Pianobook), played in Decent Sampler.
The 9,000ft Piano is a grand that Christian Henson sampled high in the Colorado Rockies in 2019. The piano belongs to Ross Lara. Henson recorded it while also filming an interview at altitude. The pack offers three microphone choices: a 414, a Coles and an ambient position. Users describe the tone as bright and clear, and one finds it useful for lo-fi work. It suits open, reflective cues that need a clearer sound than a felt piano. One outside report calls it a Yamaha baby grand, which Pianobook does not confirm. A free Pianobook account is needed to download it.
Worth knowing: You need a free Pianobook account to download it. The Kontakt version may not run in the free Kontakt Player, so use the Decent Sampler version.
