Legacy Knight Piano is a Knight K10 upright recorded by Paul James at a local tuner's workshop. He used several microphones, which are blended on a single slider. He kept only the soft dynamic, so the piano is quiet and dark. A second slider adds a granular pad made from the same recordings. With the pedal down, held chords drift slowly into that pad. It suits ambient underscore, calm worship music and reflective film cues. The limits are one dynamic layer and no round robins, so repeated notes sound the same. It is not meant for loud or lively playing.
Worth knowing: You need a free Pianobook account to download it. Use the Decent Sampler version. The maker's own Gumroad copy costs at least £1, and its Kontakt version needs the full paid Kontakt.
