A free cinematic piano from Renger Koning (Pianobook), played in Decent Sampler.
Felt & Fog is an ambient piano instrument by Renger Koning. It pairs a felted piano with sampled layers that loop over 20 to 60 seconds, so held chords slowly develop and rarely repeat. The free Decent Sampler edition has three of the six layers: the felted piano, a gentle swarm of repeated notes, and a glassy, detuned shimmer. Built-in effects include tape, delay and reverb. It suits minimal, neo-classical and documentary underscore where long held notes have room to breathe. It is not a plain piano for fast playing. The other three layers and extra effects are only in the paid full version.
Worth knowing: The free edition has 3 of the 6 layers; the full version is paid. You can get it from Pianobook or straight from Decent Samples.
