A free grand piano from Spitfire Audio, played in Splice INSTRUMENT.
Intimate Grand Piano is a vintage Steinway Model A grand, recorded up close at Castlesound Studios in Scotland. It offers condenser, ribbon and binaural mic signals, the last from a KU100 dummy head, plus controls for reverb, tightness, hammers and pedal. Eight presets range from tight and bright to deep and dark. That covers solo piano themes, quiet drama and darker cinematic underscore. It runs in the Splice INSTRUMENT plugin, which needs a free Splice account, and the download is about 4 GB. The catch is its price status: Spitfire still sells it for £29, and INSTRUMENT's free offers can be time-limited, so check it is free before relying on it.
Worth knowing: Free in Splice INSTRUMENT at the moment, but Spitfire still sells it separately, so it may only be free for a limited time.
